Why is the extracted text empty or garbled?
If a PDF was created by scanning a paper page or photographing text, it has no selectable text layer — only a picture of the text. This tool reads existing text; it can't perform OCR on scanned images.
Can I extract text from password-protected PDFs?

Does the extracted text keep the original formatting?
Basic line breaks are preserved, but complex layouts like multi-column pages, tables, and text boxes may not extract in perfect reading order. For simple documents the result is usually clean and ready to use.
